DGQA Technician Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates must be Indian citizens and should fulfil the prescribed educational, technical and age requirements.
Technician (Skilled)
Applicants must have:
- Passed Matriculation/10th class from a recognised Board or equivalent.
- Possessed an ITI certificate in the relevant trade, or an equivalent Defence Services Tradesman Course recognised by the Central or State Government.
- Completed at least one year of experience in the relevant trade from a recognised organisation or undertaking.
Technician (Semi Skilled)
Applicants must have:
- An ITI pass certificate in any trade, or
- An equivalent Defence Services Tradesman Course approved by the Central or State Government.
Any additional qualification held or being pursued as of the closing date should also be declared in the application.
DGQA Technician Age Limit
The prescribed age limit is:
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 27 years
The age will be calculated as on the closing date for applications.
The date of birth should be supported by the candidate’s Matriculation certificate or a valid Birth Certificate. Aadhaar is not accepted as proof of date of birth.

DGQA Technician Salary 2026
Selected candidates will receive salary according to the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.
Technician (Semi Skilled)
Level-1: ₹18,000 – ₹56,900
Technician (Skilled)
Level-2: ₹19,900 – ₹63,200
In addition to basic pay, employees may receive applicable government allowances and benefits, including Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, Children Education Allowance, Leave Travel Concession and medical facilities, as per prevailing rules.
Applicable pension provisions, including NPS/UPS provisions, will be governed by the rules in force at the time of appointment.
